We provide the tools ambitious founders need to succeed

Going for growth

We work with founders and CEOs who are ready to take their business to the next level. Whether that's raising investment or growing organically, someone needs to run the numbers.

We create custom built financial models that forecast a business’s future, enabling its leaders to make strategic decisions now.

Business leaders have enough to do without devoting days of their precious time wrestling with spreadsheets to work out where their business will be in three years time.

There are a lot of questions a business forecast can help founders answer: how much money is needed and when; how much to spend on growth; when to make key hires; what their valuation will be; what an investor can expect in future returns.

A representation of reality

Modelling the revenues for a business - the sales methodologies, the growth engine, what is sold and how it is sold - can be incredibly specific to each business. For this reason, we custom build every model.

When we create a financial model we are looking to build a structure that people can use to make real, practical business decisions.

Amongst the products we create are: cash forecasts, financial models, budget forecasts, business plans, venture capital models, SaaS models, unit economics models, and runway forecasts.

Questions we help you answer

How much should I spend on growth to maximise future profitability?

How much should I raise to have a runway of ... months?

What will be the value of my business in ... year's time?

How much investment will I require to get into profit?

Should I do one big raise or several smaller ones?

What is my forecast EBITDA in ... years time?

What price should I set to optimise revenue?

What is the current value of my business?

What is my optimal advertising spend?

What is my customer lifetime value?

What is my investor IRR?

When will I enter profit?

Talking the talk

Investors need reassurance that you as the founder have run the numbers and have a feasible growth plan and cash forecast.

VC and Angel investors will expect the founder to be well versed with performance metrics including CAC, LTV, and ROAS and to be able to explain how they will change over time as the business grows.

The founder needs to have a solid understanding of the financial statements and management accounts as well as understanding important investor metrics including company valuation, IRR and MOIC.

Working closely with the leadership team we create a financial model that gives them the confidence and tools to pitch to investors and to lead their startup through their growth plan.

The FAST Standard

Our models are created to the FAST Standard. The Standard was created by industry practitioners to provide guidance to spreadsheet-based financial modellers and to promote standardisation.

The Standard is based on four principles:

Flexible: To be effective, the structure and style of models require flexibility. They should allow multiple users to run scenarios and sensitivities and to make modifications over an extended period as new information becomes available.

Appropriate: Models must reflect key business assumptions without being cluttered in unnecessary detail. The modeller must not lose sight of what a model is: a good representation of reality, rather than reality itself.

Structured: Rigorous consistency in layout and organisation is essential in retaining the model’s logical integrity over time. A consistent approach to structuring workbooks, worksheets, and formulas saves time when building, learning, or maintaining the model.

Transparent: Effective models are founded upon simple, clear formulas that can be understood by other modellers and non-modellers alike.
