Pareful
Launching an app to support parents’ mental health
OVERVIEW
Founder of multiple successful startups, James Levy, came up with the idea for Pareful a few months after his first child was born. Sleep deprived and feeling stressed he struggled to find useful resources to support his and his wife’s mental health.
We worked with James to map out the first 5-years of Pareful’s life. From creating an MVP, raising investment, building the app, creating content and acquiring paying customers right through to exit.

DETAIL
Pareful provide a mobile app. As a subscription business, the company’s future success depends principally upon two metrics: customer acquisition cost (CAC) and customer lifetime value (LTV). Therefore the model was built around these two key metrics and the variables that drive them including price, retention and churn. From the dashboard of the model James could adjust these metrics and immediately view and compare the financial impact on the future of his business.
As well as all the main financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow) we provided a range of graphs and charts including net cash flow (burn rate), EBITDA, customer acquisition cost, and customer life time value. These charts gave James the ability to quickly visualise the impact that changing inputs - such as price, CAC and churn - had on the outcomes of the model.
In order to make the model more useful on an ongoing basis we added the ability to update it on a monthly basis with actual data. This included subscriber numbers so that James could have a better grasp of actual retention and churn and adjust the inputs accordingly. The model takes the actual data and adjusts the forecast accordingly so that the model becomes more accurate on a monthly basis.
